FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
beyond orange releases first "ultimate cinematic chillout" cd

Orange County, California – January 2, 2010 - Los Angeles-based composers and instrumentalists Andrew Campbell and Emir Isilay announce the release of their first cd of instrumental music that offers a unique fusion of cinema music, jazz, pop, and the "chillout" electronica genre.

"We were inspired by the beauty and texture of life on the Orange County, California ‘Southern California Riviera’ coastline. We wanted to capture that with evocative and textured instrumental music that you can leave on in the background, but when you go back and listen carefully, there is always something more,” said Andrew Campbell. “Our mission has always been to ‘go beyond’—to push past the trite expressions of bucolic living in this area—and to go beyond what’s expected for our primary musical genre. As composers, we felt that the genre of chillout and its related musical tributaries could pay more attention to songwriting and memorable, singable melodies. ‘beyond orange’ is our answer to those concerns, and our contribution to the state of the art.”

On the record, the pair demonstrate their creative, multi-instrumental approach. Emir Isilay performs on piano, electric piano, synthesizers, vocals, drums, and percussion. Andrew Campbell handles duties on guitar, bass, effects, mandolin, tiple, spoken word, cell phones, and drills. "When you get tired of hearing yourself play the usual instruments like guitar, bass or piano, that's when you break out the power tools and other types of household items," says Emir Isilay.

The album is currently available electronically on Amazon.com, iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody and emusic.com. The physical cd, which features artistic photography by Brigham Field featuring Czech model Nella Miartusova, will soon be available on Amazon.com and at other locations. Ecuadorian singer Irene Garcia makes a guest appearance on vocals.
